Kildare County Covered Live on CKR Radio

KILDARE County Football Club's historic First Division Cup clash with Limerick FC on Saturday is to be covered live on CKR FM.

Media interest in County's Newbridge meeting with the League Cup holders is reaching fever pitch and the local radio station is pulling out all the stops to bring news of The Thoroughbreds' progress to their listeners.

The past week has seen the Irish Independent produce a three page spread on the Eircom League's newest club and continues this week with the visit of RTE's Six-One news presenter Eamonn Falvey to Station Road.

Falvey interviewed The Thoroughbreds team manager Dermot Keely and Chief Executive Stephen Finn for a piece previewing the club's first competitive match ever.

The piece is likely to be broadcast Wednesday or Thursday evening.

RTE Radio Sport presenter Pauric Lodge was also on hand at Station Road to record the story of Kildare County Football Club's exciting introduction to senior football in Ireland.

This interview will be broadcast on Saturday afternoon as the buzz builds up towards kick-off.

In the meantime, Irish sport's top internet sites have featured regular pieces on Dermot Keely's side.
