Late goals haunt County once more
Sporting Fingal 2 Kildare County 2
Robbie Doyle's last gasp double preserved Sporting's unbeaten home run as they somehow claimed a point after seemingly being dead and buried.
Ciaran Kilduff looked to have given Kildare all three points when he scored with just 16 minutes remaining, but they counted without the intervention of the in-form Doyle.
Doyle has now scored in seven consecutive league games, bagging ten in total.
Kildare opened the scoring in the 12th minute with a stunning strike from Barry Slattery after he cut in off the left wing and curled a delightful shot past Steve Williams.
That was a rare foray in the Sporting half for Kildare in the first half and the home side took control of the game after that.
Philly Byrne and Chris Deans both went close for Liam Buckley's men, but the half finished on a sour note when Kildare's Michael Roche was stretchered off after a clash of heads.
Sporting continued to be the better team in the second half, but they failed to take any of a number of chances that they created and the game seemed to have gone away from them when Kilduff scored after Slattery's pass.
With the game seemingly lost, Sporting were handed a way back into the match when Alan Clarke was harshly adjudged to have handled inside the area and Doyle converted the penalty in the 82nd minute.
Sporting threw everything at the Kildare defence, but the visitors seemed set to hold on until Doyle popped up with just two seconds left of the three injury time minutes and smashed home from close range after Paul Caffrey's knock down.
