Zeller A Major Doubt For Weekend

Kildare County's flying winger, Shay Zeller is a major doubt for this Saturday's game against Sligo Rovers. Zeller went over on his ankle at training on Monday night and rated as highly unlikely to be involved on Saturday. He will have a late fitness test on Saturday as Dermot Keely gives him every opportunity to play.

Mikey McCann and Derek Griffin are also unavailable to play, but it is hoped that Gavin Doyle will be okay after a chest infection during the week. In better news for Thoroughbred fans Peter Rogers has been declared fit and is likely to be on the bench for the first time for Kildare County.

Meanwhile Gavin Dykes and new goalkeeper, Danny O'Leary, have been enjoying themselves this week, Dykes (right) and O'Leary are in charge of a FAS course in Sligo in which EIGHT of the Sligo team are on, Dykes said "We have had some great craic this week with the lads but it will be all business on Saturday, after all we have to make sure we can slag the Sligo lads again next week!!"

Elsewhere, it has been confirmed that striker Keith O'Connor will be suspended for one game following his sending off against Athlone Town. This means he will miss the trip to Waterford on October 10th.
