Philly comes home
Fans of the Thououghbreds will no doubt be delighted at the news that local lad Phillip Gorman has put pen to paper for the remainder of the season.
Philip, who hails from Brownstown, signed for County from Newbridge Town FC by manager Dermot Keely in their inaugural season (2002/03)when he played 15 games and netted six goals (co-incidentally he played up front alongside current manager John Ryan in some of these games).
The striker re-signed for Kildare in the 2003 season but made only eleven starts and came off the bench on eight occasions. Philip then had spells at Kilkenny City and Dublin City.
He has spent much of the past year abroad on United Nations duty but admits that he was delighted to sign for his native County on his return.
Manager John Ryan admits that he was delighted to get the signature of Gorman, who re reckons will be a great addition to the squad. Philip holds the distinction of netting Countys first ever competitive goal back in 2002.
