Mixed news on the player front for Cobh clash

County make the long trip to Cobh this weekend hoping to continue their recent good form. Taking anything from this game against the title chasing Cork side at St.Colmans Park would be a major achievement. The Thoroughbreds however have nothing to loose and the pressure will be firmly on the home side.

There is mixed news on the player front. Making a return following suspension will be Stephen Cooling, Darren Stapleton and Steve McCrossan although Paul Donnolly, who performed so well in the home win over Limerick 37 last week is serving a one game suspension, having accumulated four penalty points.

In form striker Philly Gorman is also an absentee as he is currently in India competing with the Irish Defence Forces in the CISM World Military Games.

On the doubtful list are Austin O’Neill (shoulder), Matt Rigney (ankle), Ian Malone (knee) and Eoghan Carew (Shoulder).

County have six games remaining (three home and three away) and apart from the Cobh game they must travel to Finn Harps and Dundalk – all difficult assignments – so anything gained in these games will be a bonus.

The remaining home games are against Wexford Youths, Athlone Town and Kilkenny City and full points must be the target for John Ryan’s men in these games.

Kick off at St Colman’s Park is 7.45pm.

PS: All the best to the large travelling contingent of supporters, who will be enjoying their annual extended stay in Cobh over the weekend. Have a great weekend.
