Philly elects to remain a Thoroughbred
County moved to secure the services of their top goal-scorer Philip Gorman by signing the player on a contract that will keep him at Station Road until the end of the 2009 season.
The Brownstown Bomber was the target of interest from several clubs but Gorman, whose contract with County expired following the disappointing finale to the season in Dundalk last (Saturday) night.
County fans are sure to be pleased that their favourite will be leading the Thoroughbreds attack for the next two seasons.
Phillip notched 13 league goals this season and that figure could have been higher were it not for the fact that he was unavailable to County for three games recently while on duty with the Irish Defence International side in the World Military Games in India.
