Ger gives full committment for 2008
Striker Ger Robinson, who scored an impressive eight goals in the eight games he played for County in the season just ended and incredibly shared ninth placed in the First Division top scorers table alongside such players as Kieran O’Reilly (Cobh Ramblers), Shaun Williams and Trevor Vaughan Dundalk and Conor Sinnott (Wexford Youths) has signed on the dotted line for the Thoroughbreds for the coming season.
Ger, who had spells at Dundalk, Monaghan and Longford Town, was restricted to just eight appearances last season due to his commitments to his local GAA Club St Peters of Dunboyne and to the Meath County team.
The great news for County fans is that Ger has agreed with manager John Ryan that his full commitment will be to the County cause next season. With Philly Gorman (the divisions third top scorer – with thirteen goals this season) Robinson will make a formidable striking force.
With only Cobh, Finn Harps and Dundalk scoring more league goals than County in 2007 but with the goals against making depressing reading the emphasis will now be on making improvements at the other end of the pitch.
